CycleStreets is a not-for-profit social enterprise running a UK-wide cycle journey planner website and mobile app. I was commissioned to refresh their icon set that primarily sit on their central photomap, where users can upload images of their local cycle network. The uploads are categorised into bad, neutral and good. As such, I was challenged to create a system within the set that helped users identify the category instantly. The solution was to implement a 'traffic light' colour system on the map pins that hold the icons:
